An Apology in a Dream

21 January 2018

I am at a friend’s house and have said something which has made his wife cry. English is her second language and a comment I made about a word usage offended her. She ran to a couch sobbing. At first I didn’t understand what had happened and her husband reminded me about the language issue. Understanding now, I approached her, apologizing.

“Your English is so good I forget that it is not your first language,” I reassure her. “So I didn’t even think of how my words would offend you. I’m sorry.”

These words appeared to calm her down and with that she reached for a hug. We hugged it out and in no time were laughing together again.
