What is Hippo’s Message in a Dream?

I dreamed of hippos recently.

This is a new symbol for me.

Having some fun with it, I searched Google and found this at Spirit Animal Totems:

If Hippopotamus has come across your path:

He is reminding you that if you have become bored with your life you have the creative power to stir things up and revitalize things by starting new projects, goals and spiritual connections. Do this by following the tried and true methods of reaching your goals and focus on the success of your projects. Take the time to dream your dreams and choose the path that will be right for you to achieve them. Understand that you will need to commit to your goals in order to fulfill them.

If Hippopotamus is your Animal Totem:

You have an innate ability to know what lies beneath the surface of any situation. You see and speak the truth and will demand that others respect that truth. You are highly intuitive and act on your intuition without hesitation or questioning it. You are practical, balanced and grounded in your lifestyle. You will often submerge yourself in in the creative process without fear of the power emotionsthat surface in this process. You have a strong connection to the spiritual, artistic and healing realms of water. Often those of you with this totem are susceptible to sun related problems including dehydration – so you must be careful outdoors.

If Hippopotamus has come into your Dream:

A Hippopotamus can represent emotional clearing, or emotional turmoil. If it is a baby hippo and you are looking after it the dream may be a indicating that a big event is occurring in your life, one that will grow and claim much of your time.

To see a group of hippopotamuses in your dream suggests that you need to escape from the daily grind and relax.

Alternatively, to see a Hippopotamus in your dream often symbolizes your hidden strengths and your aggressive nature. You have more influence and power than you realize. There is also the possibility that it indicates that you are being territorial. Is someone is overstepping their boundaries?

This really speaks to my need for a vacation. I think it’s also telling me to prepare for some creativity and new projects which may come out of the vacation.
